A still from the film Chennai: The audio of the much-awaited ‘Dasavathaaram’ will be launched in the first week of March. The audio rights of the movie have been acquired by Sony BMG. With this film, Sony has entered the south market, particularly Tamil. The film is produced by V. Ravichandran of Oscar Films, and actors Kamal Haasan and Asin play the lead pair. According to the producer, the film is to be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously on April 10 worldwide. Excited about venturing into the Tamil market, Shridhar Subramaniam, Managing Director, Sony BMG, India, said the company was happy to make a foray into the Tamil market with a big film like ‘Dasavathaaram’. “It is a privilege for us to enter the Tamil music market with a project as grand and special as ‘Dasavathaaram’. We are looking forward to setting new standards here as well.” ‘Dasavathaaram’ features Kamal Haasan in 10 different roles, with Asin playing two roles for the first time. The music is being scored by Himesh Reshammiya. The producer is trying to rope in Jackie Chan and Amitabh Bachchan for the audio launch. Sony has asked music director Yuvan Shankar Raja to cut a non-film album, and the young music director has accepted the offer.
