Showroom guard fires at police team
NEW DELHI: A 45-year-old security guard at a showroom was arrested on charges of attempt to murder after he allegedly opened fired at a police team at Seemapuri here on Friday. According to the police, two policemen heard gunshots while they were patrolling in the Seemapuri police station area in the early hours. When they reached the spot, they noticed two persons on the roof of a Maruti showroom and one of them firing indiscriminately. When the policemen asked him to surrender, he allegedly fired three rounds at them. The information was passed through wireless and soon eight PCR vans and senior police officers reached the spot. The accused, later identified as Kamruddin, allegedly fired a dozen more rounds before he was overpowered.
