BSNL stir deferred; situation to be reviewed in April
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: Employees of the State-owned telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Friday decided to defer their strike that was scheduled from February 26.
“The Joint Forum of BSNL Unions and Associations of Non-executives and Executives has decided to defer its indefinite strike proposed from February 26, 2008, on the basis of written assurances given by the Secretary, Department of Telecommunication (DoT), on the demands raised by the employees after a meeting with the union,” said the joint forum’s convener, V.A.N. Namboodiri.
The forum would review that situation in April and decide the course of action if their demands were not met, he added.
