Vellappally re-elected secretary

ALAPPUZHA: It was a walkover for the panel led by Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary and sitting secretary of S.N. Trust Vellappally Natesan in the election to the 21-member executive committee of the Trust Board held at Cherthala on Saturday.

Mr. Natesan was unanimously elected secretary of the Trust for the fifth consecutive time while sitting president of the Yogam M.N. Soman was elected chairman. G. Chandrababu was elected assistant secretary and G. Jayadevan, treasurer.

As many as 612 director board members were proposed unopposed from among 1,06,688 voters across 10 regions of the Trust.

Apart from these, the director board also has 146 members from the ‘5,000 category,’ 18 hereditary members, 424 lifelong members, three expert members, seven members from the Yogam nominated by the Yogam president and secretary, one member from the Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust and six institutional members, totalling 1,223 director board members.

The three expert members are State Women’s Commission chairperson D. Sreedevi, Cochin University Vice-Chancellor Gangan Pratap and cardiologist G. Vijayaraghavan.

Executive committee

The new executive committee comprises L. Ramesh Babu; Cherinniyur Jayaprakash; former MLA D. Sugathan; UDF Alappuzha district chairman C.R. Jayaprakash; Mohan Shankar; N. Rajendran; Aneppil Suresh; M.B. Sreekumar; A. Somarajan; K. Asokapanicker; Eravankara Viswanathan; R.K. Das; P.N. Natarajan; Anil Kumar; P.M. Raveendran; and K.P. Retnakaran. A.K. Parimalakumari from Cherthala continued to be the sole female member of the committee.
