ALAPPUZHA: A major train mishap was averted after railway officials spotted a snag in the track-changing system near the Haripad railway station here on Saturday night. According to official sources, the snag resulted in four trains being held up for nearly two hours. These are learnt to be the Kochuveli-Bangalore Express, the Trivandrum-Howrah Express, the Jan Shatabdi Express and an Inter-city service. Some irate passengers entered into an argument with officials at the Haripad railway station. —Staff Reporter
