Army’s help in development urged

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Saturday wanted top army officials to be pro-active and participate in development by clearing road-widening projects in stretches that passed through Cantonment area in the general interest.

In his inaugural speech at the Civil Military Liaison Conference here on Saturday, he minced no words in asking Army officials to clear proposals that involved giving up a little bit of land for such projects. “When we are giving away so much of land whenever there is a request from the defence forces, you can surely clear road-widening proposals without loss of time,” he said.
