St. Stephen’s decision welcomed

NEW DELHI: The Delhi University Teachers’ Association on Saturday welcomed the decision of the chairman of the Governing Body of St. Stephen’s College to unconditionally withdraw the show-cause notices served on two senior History lecturers by Principal Valson Thampu.

“Mr. Thampu had served these notices on flimsy grounds only to detract attention from the controversy about his ineligibility to hold the post of Officer on Special Duty. We urge the University and the Governing Body to ensure his removal and appoint a regular eligible Principal in the College,” said DUTA president Aditya Narayan Misra.
