Resource directory for emergencies

Bangalore: The Department of Factories and Boilers has identified 34 hazardous industries in Bangalore Urban and Rural districts and has prepared a resource directory to deal with emergencies in the units. Department Director H. Srinivasaiah revealed this while speaking at a mock emergency response drill organised at the Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., here on Saturday. He said the directory would be a help in dealing with emergency situations like fire, explosion, release of chemical poison and poisonous gas. District Disaster Management Committee Coordinator K.K. Pradeep said a crisis management group, comprising representatives of 23 departments, had been constituted in Bangalore city.
