Balancing act: Students of the Seva Bharati Vidya Kendra forming a human pyramid at the sports meet, in Tirthahalli on Saturday. TIRTHAHALLI (SHIMOGA DISTRICT): Students of the Seva Bharati Vidya Kendra put up an adventurous show at the sports meet held here on Saturday. The sports meet was dedicated to the memory of Ajitkumar, a social worker. It was held on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the Seva Bharati Trust. The events, held under floodlights at the Government Pre University College playground, included Krishna-Arjun battle with the students, dressed as Krishna and Arjun, performing the episode standing on the shoulders of other students, human pyramid formation, “malla kambha” (with rope), torchlight exercise, yogasana, cycle balancing and events depicting the freedom struggle of 1857. AppreciationThe former MLA for Tirthahalli and trustee of the Trust Araga Jnanendra, who was the chief guest, appreciated the courage of the students. He said that students could face any challenge in life with confidence if they developed courage. Block Education Officer G.N. Prakash was present. President of the Trust C. Benaka Bhat presided over the function.
