Man killed in accident

KOCHI: The dangerous Poojari curve on the Airport-Seaport road has claimed one more life, with a car passenger getting killed and five of his relatives injured in an accident on Sunday morning.

A lorry rammed the car after hitting a median, the Edapally traffic police said. Rajan, 58, of Vadassery, Kodakara, is the deceased. His wife, Omana; daughter-in-law Ajitha; grandchildren Tarun and Tanish; and the car driver, Babu, have been admitted to Sunrise Hospital, Kakkanad. The lorry driver fled the scene.

Many people gathered on hearing of the accident and traffic was blocked for some time on the road.

The people demanded that the curve be straightened and medians placed unscientifically be removed.
