Bangalore: A workshop on formulation of syllabus on “Gender and livestock development” was conducted by the UGC Centre for Women’s Studies, Bangalore University. K.K. Seethamma, Director of the department, highlighted the importance of introducing the paper at the postgraduate level in Women Studies and Veterinary Sciences. She said that more than 60 per cent of rural households owned 65 per cent of dairy animals, majority of them being women. — Staff Reporter
