All-party meet sought

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur to convene an all-party meeting to decide the outlines of the State budget to be presented soon.

Participating at a public function organised by the BJP in Bangalore, party leader and former Minister R. Ashok took exception to the Governor’s move to present a full-fledged budget instead of going for the short-term one (vote-on-account for three months).

Presenting the State budget without eliciting the views of all-party leaders and farmers would account to incorporating the views of only officials, he said.
