preserving nature’s beauty: A scenic beauty at dawn of a river near Kanhangad in Kasaragod district, Kerala. Local people are also seen engaged in sand-mining. Blessed with a copious annual rainfall (3000 mm), large number of rivers, chains of backwater bodies and number of ponds and water tanks, the State is considered as a land of surplus water resources.
