BANGALORE: Canara Bank, with a good sprinkling of present and past State Ranji Trophy players lifted the Basavanagudi Cup all- India invitation cricket tournament for the fourth time. Canara Bank downed Hyderabad CA by 79 runs at the National HS ground here on Sunday. C. Raghu played a crucial knock of 53 not out (studded with six boundaries and a six) and then turned his arm around to claim two for 10 to seal the match in the bankmen’s favour. The scores: Canara Bank 224 for six in 30 overs (G. Balaji 61, Gaurav Dhiman 43, C. Raghu n.o 53, Deepak Chougule 34; Santosh Yadav three for 46) bt Hyderabad CA XI 145 in 25 overs (Ahmed Quadri 29). Special prizes: Best batsmen: Devraj Patil (Swastic Union CC). Best bowler: Sunil Kumar (Malleswaram Gym.). Player of the tournament: C. Raghu (Canara Bank.).
