Llodra to meet Soderling

ROTTERDAM: Michael Llodra of France beat Ivo Karlovic 7-5, 7-6(4) in the semifinals of the ABN Amro championship here on Saturday.

Llodra, looking for his second title of the year after winning the tournament in Adelaide in January, will face Robin Soderling of Sweden.

Soderling wrapped up a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Frenchman Gilles Simon in 51 minutes to reach his first ATP final in two years since losing to Tommy Haas at Memphis in February 2006.

The 58th-ranked Llodra became the first player in the tournament to break Karlovic’s service in the 11th game of the opening set.

Roddick-Stepanek final

At San Jose, the top-seeded Andy Roddick beat Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 7-6(2), 6-1 to set up a final with Czech Radek Stepanek.

The fourth-seeded Stepanek overcame America’s Robby Ginepri 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-1 in the other semifinal.

At Buenos Aires (ATP Copa Telmex): Jose Acasuso bt Filippo Volandri 4-6, 6-4, 6-4; David Nalbandian bt Juan Ignacio Chela 6-1, 6-2.
