BHUBANESWAR: Orissa unit of the Communist Party of India (M-L) Liberation on Sunday demanded immediate release of four of its members who were arrested in Bolangir two days ago. At a press conference here, State secretary of the party Kshitish Biswal blamed the police for arresting innocent people in the name of picking up of Maoists. The four workers of the party were travelling by train from Rayagada to participate in a party rally in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, he said. If the four were not released immediately, the party would observe a bandh in Rayagada district on Monday and hold protest demonstrations in other parts of the State, Mr. Biswal warned. The four persons had been taken to Rayagada after they were arrested at Bolangir. Mr. Biswal alleged that the Rayagada police had given wrong information to the Bolangir police and the four were booked as Maoists. The police had not released the four workers despite they talking to various authorities clarifying the position, Mr. Biswal said.
