CUTTACK: A mediation centre under the auspices s of Orissa State Legal Aid Services was inaugurated here on Sunday by the Supreme Court judge Arijit Pasayt. The State mediation centre would act as a forum of Alternative Disputes Redressal (ADR) system to lessen the mounting pending cases in the State. A retired judge of either High Court or district judges would head the centre with adequate advocates, volunteers and social workers to give mutual or impartial assistance to litigants for a mutually acceptable solution. “We would now request the State High Court to frame Rules for the Centre and see that it starts functioning immediately”, informed the deputy secretary of Orissa Legal Aid Services Authority (OLASA) M.S. Dhal.
