Cadres take out massive rally Tight security arranged to avoid communal tension BERHAMPUR: The RSS chief K.S.Sudarsan termed Maoists a major demonic force out to destroy peace, harmony and integrity of the country. Speaking at a public meeting organised at Khallikote Autonomous college stadium on Sunday evening, Mr. Sudarsan called upon the RSS cadres of Orissa to thwart nefarious plans of Maoists. According to him the leaders of original naxal movement like Kanhu Sanyal were also opposed to the kind of mayhem that present day Maoists were creating. He termed present breed of Maoists as mindless violent beings who only propagate animosity. Mr Sudarsan also alleged that Maoists were involved in the violence that occurred in Kandhamal district in recent past. He did not forget to add that exploitation of natural resources of the country by the multinational companies at the cost of local peasants was a major problem facing the country. Islamic terrorismThe other major problems facing the country according to him were Islamic terrorism and religious conversion. He was also too acrid in his remarks about Raj Thackeray. According to him, for petty political gains Raj was trying to destroy the unity of the country through his divisive statements based on regionalism. To the astonishment of the audience, the RSS chief praised Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ as enlightened beings during his speech. But he added that followers of these great prophets had misused their teachings for power politics. Organisational meetMr. Sudarsan reached the city on Saturday evening to take part in the two-day organisational meeting of cadres from five of their major units in the State that started in the city on Sunday. RSS cadres from undivided Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput and Puri districts are taking part in this two-day closed door conference to discuss about their future activities in these areas. A large rally of RSS cadres in their traditional uniform preceded the public meeting. Ample security had been arranged through out the city to avoid any communal tension during the RSS rally and public meeting.
