HYDERABAD: A special train carrying farmers and leaders of different political parties under the umbrella of Andhra Pradesh All-Party Farmers’ Organisation was flagged off from Secunderabad Railway Station on Sunday evening on its way to New Delhi. Those who flagged it off on what was described as a momentous journey included Telugu Desam parliamentary party leader K. Yerran Naidu, TD legislature party deputy leader T. Devender Goud, State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party Bandaru Dattatreya and AP Rythu Sangham president K. Ramakrishna. The farmers are going to participate in the dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on February 26 to press several burning demands, including minimum support price for farm produce and implementation in toto of the recommendations of the M.S. Swaminathan Commission, said P. Sugunakar Rao, president of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha. Among those expected to participate in the dharna are TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, Yerran Naidu, Dattatreya, . Ramakrishna, CPI State secretary K. Narayana, MPs Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy and P. Madhu, CPI (M) State Secretary B.V. Raghavulu, TRS legislator N. Narasimha Reddy apart from others.
