Six die as car rams against tree
TIRUVANNAMALAI: Six persons, including two women and a child, were killed and seven others injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed against a tree in Mallavadi, about five km from here on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Kalaiarasi (50), Manimegalai (45) and car driver M. Anand Babu (40).
A. Paramasivam (50), S. Ilavarasan (40) and the latter’s son, Aditya (13), died at the Government Hospital, Tiruvannamalai.
The vehicle was proceeding to Tiruvannamali from Vellore.
According to the police, the driver swerved suddenly to avoid hitting a monkey, and lost control.
The injured were referred to the Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore, for treatment. — Special Correspondent
