Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: The Union Civil Aviation Ministry plans to expand the runway of Maharana Pratap airport at Dabok near Udaipur in Rajasthan to 9,000 square feet, for which it has obtained land from the State Government. The work on the project is slated to start shortly.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Praful Patel said in Udaipur on Saturday that the popular tourist destination, known as “Lake City”, would be connected with international flights on the project’s completion. He said as many as 35 airports across the country, including Dabok airport, were being refurbished to give them a modern look. Regional flight services would also be started from smaller towns to big cities to promote domestic tourism, he added.
