Display of innovative talent by students
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: A glue stick doubles as a butter spreader, a drain plunger attached to a cap can protect your head when you fall asleep during a bus journey and a laser scissor helps do away with a scale while cutting. A proud enthusiastic group of students from the New Horizon Public School — Rohit Sathe, Tumen Dodde, Sachin Karthikeyan and Izhaar Ali — explained their concepts to the visitors and also bagged the Arjun Menda Rolling Trophy for the best school team at the “Young Inventors’ Meet” held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium here on Sunday.
Platform
The annual programme, which is into its ninth year, provides a platform for school students to showcase their talent and innovations. As many as 14 schools participated in the convention organised by the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium and the Rotary Club of Bangalore, and funded by John F. Welsh Technology.
