VISAKHAPTNAM: The ‘Art and Science’ exhibition of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan in which artistic objects, portraits and models and charts pertaining to science and technology were showcased was instant hit with children, parents and many visitors who thronged it.

Many myths were dispelled and new insights were made through the models divided into various categories such as persevering nature for future generations, energy sources, new technologies, safety engineering and future sciences when the students explained them. In total, there were 125 models that depicted wide range of topics ranging from non-stop hot water without fuel, track warning system, smuggled detector, ecological sanitation, and fire extinguisher to air conditioner jacket.

The objects made of glass, mud and paper found place in the art gallery that allured a sizeable number of visitors. Painted pottery, glass painting, paper flowers and cups were treat to the onlooker’s eyes. Mathematical models such as making square out of the given piece, guessing the correct number also attracted lot of attention.

Fun-filled

This and many more fun-filled activities were part of Aroma 2008, the seventh annual day function of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan that was held on Sunday at Gurazada Kalakshetram.

Later, students presented cultural show supported by remarkable lighting affects. The welcome song and the Krishna’s childhood, Venugana Sammohanam and some other songs were rendered among the cultural events. Other activities western dance, Cat’ch’ walk, dance recitals in Hindi and Oriya presented by higher classes, Yoga and martial art taekwando were also appreciated by the gathering.

Commissioner of Collegiate Education K. Lakshminarayana, Commissioner of Police N. Sambasiva Rao, former Chairman of the Press Academy I. Venkata Rao, and managing director of Borewell Hydreq Industries Pvt. Ltd. K.K. Kesava Rao were present on the occasion.
