She is a television anchor with the Midas touch

T. Lalith Singh

Udaya Bhanu has established herself with a series of successful shows on TV channels

Numero uno: Udaya Bhanu rules television.

Hyderabad: She is the queen bee of Telugu telly. Take any channel and you will find her flitting in and out of the small screen to leave audience craving for more of her charismatic anchorage.

That’s Udaya Bhanu whose consistent and extremely successful run on the channels clearly places her miles ahead of others. With a fan following that any day can make most of the upcoming starlets of big screen squirm in discomfort, Udaya Bhanu established herself in an enviable position with a series of successful shows. Whether it has her challenging youngsters with a dare for ‘Sahasam Cheyara Dhimbaka’ or handing over gold coins to winners in ‘Gold Rush’, she proved to be an anchor with the Midas touch for producers and channels. Not surprising, every channel is keen on slotting at least one show of hers in their programme schedule. She also has a large following spread across the globe too and is perhaps, the only telly star to have websites dedicated to her. The stupendous success that her shows log in, from ‘Once More Please’ to ‘Dum Dum Diga Diga’, stands reinforced with ‘Rela re Rela’, whose final was shown on ‘Maa’ this Saturday.

The unique talent search for folk singers with Gadar as chief guest drew an unprecedented crowd of around 50,000.

Aided with vivacious presentation, Udaya Bhanu, whom a section of the industry prefers to dub as the superstar of Telugu telly, also made it to the big screen and the recent foray was for the movie ‘Apadamokkulavadu’. She earlier was seen in the films such as ‘Police No. 1’ and ‘Kondaveeti Simhasanam’.

Never hesitant at accepting challenging roles as anchor, Udaya Bhanu has enough shows in her kitty. The success of ‘Rela re Rela’ having placed in a different league, just wait for her next ‘avatar’.
