Chandrachoodan is RSP general secretary

New Delhi: T.J. Chandrachoodan was on Sunday unanimously elected general secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party at its National Conference here.

Chandrachoodan (68) succeeds K Pankajakshan, who has been ailing for some time. The meeting also elected a new 31-member Central Secretariat, the party’s top decision making body.

Soon after his election to the top party post, Chandrachoodan called for greater unity among Left parties. His comments assume significance in the wake of the party’s standoff with CPI(M) in West Bengal — PTI
