Plea to waive loans

MALAPPURAM: A meeting of the Desiya Karshaka Thozhilali Federation here on Monday demanded that loans of farm workers up to Rs.50,000 be waived. The meeting said farm workers in the State were facing a crisis owing to the spiralling price of commodities. Blaming the State government for failing to check the price rise, the meeting said waiving the loans was the only way out. Federation district president P.G. Rajagopalan presided over the meeting.
