Chitradurga: Two people died on the spot and 25 were injured when a tractor ploughed into a group of people near Novilkallbovihatti village of Hosadurga taluk on Sunday. The dead were identified as Mahantamma (26) and her daughter, Nandana (3). According to the police, the accident took place at 11.30 p.m. when the group was waiting for a bus to attend a mass marriage ceremony in Hosadurga taluk. Mahantamma’s sister, Shruti, was to have been married in the ceremony. Of the 25 injured people, five are said to be in critical condition. — Staff Correspondent
