Some leaders have urged Sharad Yadav to reconstitute State unit

Belgaum: Janata Dal (United) district unit has exhibited signs of revolt by writing to its national leadership to reconstitute the State unit at the earliest.

In a letter faxed to JD(U) president Sharad Yadav, district general secretary Ashok Chandargi, vice-presidents Shivappa Shamarant and Vijay Kumar Patil, treasurer Ajit Shanbhag have urged Mr. Yadav to immediately reconstitute the State unit of the party with senior leader M.P. Nadagouda, MLC.

They said the party had been suffering setbacks in all the elections held under the present leadership. Recently, a senior youth leader belonging to Lingayat community, Basawaraj Bommai quit the party and joined the BJP. Thus, the situation calls for immediate measures to reconstitute the party State unit under the leadership of Dr. Nadagouda, who enjoys respect in all sections of society.
