Lucknow: Prisoners in the district jail here went on an indefinite hunger strike in protest against the alleged lathi charge on them, in which some inmates suffered injuries. Senior officials were trying to pursuade the prisoners to end the hunger strike. Prisoners in the jail had fought a pitched battle with the guards on Sunday in which several prisoners were injured, sources said.
