They will also be subjected to brain mapping tests
Part of the probe into looting of firearms BANGALORE: Seven policemen and a typist attached to the Adiyamankottai police station in Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu would be subjected to polygraph and brain mapping tests at State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Bangalore during the next few days. The eight employees are being subjected to the two tests as part of the investigations into the reported looting of firearms from the Adiyamankottai police station, situated on the Salem-Bangalore national highway, in the early hours of February 9. PreparationsPreliminary preparations for the tests were made on Monday and the polygraph and brain mapping tests would commence from Tuesday, Superintendent of Police, Nammakal district, John Nicholson told The Hindu here on Monday. Mr. Nicholson, who has brought the accused to Bangalore, said sub-inspector Krishnan, head constables Rajamanickam, Raja and Thangavelu, constables Parthiban and Chinnappayan and typist Sendhil Kumar would undergo the two tests in the next few days. About a week after the weapons were reportedly looted from the police station, they were found buried in a pit near a banana grove close to the police station. Barring a single barrel breech-loading gun and the walkie-talkie, the looted weapons were recovered from the pit covered with dry banana leaves. The police are investigating whether the eight accused men had a role in the raid.
