Flying Rudolph claims Raja Bahadur Venkatram Reddy Memorial Cup

Hyderabad: Flying Rudolph (Suraj Narredu up) won the Raja Bahadur Venkatram Reddy Memorial Cup, the chief event of the races held here on Monday (Feb.25). The winner is trained by Prasad R.

Leading individual owner: Mr. M.A.M. Ramaswamy became the leading individual owner, winning Rs.47,92,155 and also the leading individual owner for horses based at Hyderabad, winning Rs. 41,81, 555.

Leading joint owners: Mr. D. Pratap Chander Reddy and Susheel Kumar Gupta were the leading joint owners, winning Rs.36, 09, 825 and won the same title for horses based in Hyderabad, winning an identical Rs. 36,09,825.

Champion trainers: D. Netto and K.S.V. Prasad Raju were the champion trainers in a dead heat with 37 winners each.

Champion jockey: Suraj Narredu (40 winners) and Pramod Goud (18 winners) were the champion jockey and leading apprentice jockey respectively. Times of India with 92 winners won the tipsters prize. M/s. Nikhar and Co. was the leading bookmaker with field money of over Rs. 98,09,300.

Champion horse: Retribution was declared the champion horse. Coral Gables and Gentleman’s Deal became the horses of the season, winning three out of three events each.
