Children depict violation of their rights School notes

BANGALORE: Al-Ameen Primary and High School, Hosur Road, celebrated its annual day recently. The theme for this year was “Dhundla Bachpan,” which depicted the evils of child labour. The dance-drama opened with children dancing to the Kannada song “Moodala maneya, mutthina neerina,” which brought to life the early morning grandeur.

All the 550 children then depicted heartrending scenes of the life of a ragpicker, a child working in a garage, a beggar and also indifference shown to a girl child. The show concluded with the children sending out a message on child rights as set by the United Nations.

Graduation day

The first batch of Class X students of S. Cadambi Vidya Kendra, Basaveshwaranagar, were given a warm send-off at the graduation ceremony held recently on the school premises.

The programme began with the Vedic chanting to bless the graduating students, followed by the lighting of the lamp of knowledge by principal Shridhari Shenoy. The graduating students took a pledge to carry the Cadambi spirit with them always.

A skit highlighting Indian values was enacted. Chairman of the school Raghavachar presented the class report.

Annual day

St. Thomas Public School and Oxford English School, New Thippasandra, celebrated annual day recently. G. Chacko, who had won the best teacher award recently, was the chief guest for the day.

He lauded the efforts of the founder of the school M.C. Thomas for imparting quality education to students. He urged the students to be inquisitive and also told the teachers to be students always. The students, who had brought laurels to the school in the ICSE Board examinations, were felicitated on the day.
