VISAKHAPATNAM: The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Kommadi on city outskirts has received the Best School of the year in the country by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in the area of integrating technology with education and its teacher G.V.S. Nageswara Rao received the award under the teacher’s category in the same contest. Principal of the school C. Prabhakara Reddy received the award and a certificate from Secretary (Education) A.N. Rath at a function held at NCERT, New Delhi on February 18, according to a press release from the school on Monday. JNV Kommadi is one of the four best schools selected for the award across the country for the contest organised by Intel and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. For Mr. Nageswara Rao this was the third National award in the last three months. In December 2007, he received a National incentive award, followed by the TCS award in January and his entry on “conservation of energy” earned him the Intel National award in February. Last year, JNV Kommadi had received a cash award of Rs. 6.5 lakhs in computer excellence from the Ministry of Information Technology, added Mr. Prabhakara Reddy.
