The School of Engineering will remain closed till February 29. KOCHI: The School of Engineering at the Cochin University of Science and Technology here will remain closed till February 29 in view of the ongoing strike by the students. Classes have been suspended from Tuesday onwards. The students had been on strike against what they termed lapses in the evaluation of answer sheets of B.Tech. examinations. Several students had failed to clear the examinations. The decision to suspend classes was taken after the agitating students tried to disrupt the classes. They had also not sought the permission of the teacher-in-charge before going ahead with their protest. Action against studentsUniversity authorities said that the Principal of the School would submit the details of the students involved in the protest within the next four days. Action would be initiated against them under the Section 6 of the Cochin University Student (conduct and disciplinary) Code 2005. Parents would be informed about the behaviour of the students involved in the incident.
