Traffic restrictions today

NEW DELHI: The Delhi traffic police have advised motorists to avoid Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Subhas Marg, Bhahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Indraprastha Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg and Minto Road between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday in view of a Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) rally at Ramlila Ground.

General traffic will not be allowed on the following stretches: Raj Ghat to Jawaharlal Nehru Marg; Kamla Market roundabout to Jawaharlal Nehru Marg; Ajmeri Gate to Delhi Gate; Kamla Market roundabout to Hamdard and A-Point Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg to Delhi Gate.

People have also been advised to avoid the Ring Road stretch from Maharana Pratap Inter-State Bus Terminus to Nizamuddin Bridge.

Those travelling from North Delhi to South Delhi would do well to take Ring Road or Mandir Marg/Upper Ridge Road and Rani Jhansi Road. For those coming from North Delhi and going towards East Delhi, the traffic police have advised taking Marginal Bandh Road, ISBT bridge/Wazirabad bridge.

To travel from East to South, commuters have been advised to take Marginal Bandh Road, National Highway-24 and turn right on Ring Road. They can even take Noida Link Road-DND flyover-Ashram Chowk-Ring Road route.

To reach New Delhi railway station from South Delhi, commuters should take Willingdon Crescent-Baba Kharak Singh Marg-Chelmsford Road.

Commercial vehicles coming from Singhu Border side will not be allowed to proceed further on National Highway-1. No commercial traffic will be allowed between Wazirabad Bridge and Nizamuddin Bridge from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The DTC buses will be diverted or terminated at the following points: Tilak Marg ‘C’ Hexagon, Minto Road terminal, Jhandewalan roundabout, Chhatta Rail Chowk and New Darya Ganj Road.
