Of fabrics and furnishings
Presenting a vibrant picture of home-style products from across the country will be the 14th edition of “Tex-Styles India-2008” that opens at Pragati Maidan here beginning March 2. Organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation, the four-day exposition will be inaugurated jointly by Union Commerce and Industries Minister Kamal Nath and Union Textiles Minister Shankersinh Vaghela this coming Sunday.
The fair has attracted more than 215 participants from across the country who will showcase home furnishings, furnishing fabrics, yarns, knit and accessories. For the first time, it will feature “Launching Pad” in which 20 leading companies will display their products. Yet another attraction will be a Designers’ Gallery featuring works of top-notch names like Rohit Bal, Rina Dhaka, Guneet K. Kalra and Snigdha Shekhar from India, Anuradha Yahampath from Sri Lanka and Vern Schaetzlein from Germany.
Over 500 buyers have confirmed their visits from 60 countries including the US, Pakistan, Australia, Japan and Spain. To be held in Hall 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the exhibition ground, the upcoming fair will be open only to business visitors from India and abroad.
