Woman sets herself ablaze
VANIYAMBADI: A 23-year-old woman resorted to self- immolation following her strained relationship with her husband, at her residence at Madanaacheri near Vaniyambadi on Monday night.
Police said that Bhagavathi (23) of Madanaacheri had been married to Murugan for five years.
The couple had a one-and-a-half-year-old kid.
The relationship between Bhagavathi and Murugan had not been good ever since they got married. Bhagavathi who entered into some argument with her husband on Monday doused herself with kerosene.
She suffered burn injuries died on the way to the Government Hospital at Vellore. Murugan who tried to help his wife also sustained 60 per cent burn injuries.
He was being treated at the Vellore GH. Vaniyambadi Taluk police have registered a case. — Staff Reporter
