Panel to probe rice mill fire accident

CHENNAI: A high-level committee will conduct a probe into the cause of the fire accident in the godown at Modern Rice Mill, Pattukottai in Thanjavur district.

The three-member panel was constituted by the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC) on the directions of the Food and Civil Supplies Minister E.V. Velu.

The committee comprises A. Sankaralingam, vigilance officer, N.V. Kothandaramoon, general manager (business) and T. Jacob Jayachandra, construction engineer at TNCSC. The team has been instructed to inspect the site and submit a report in two days. — Special Correspondent
