Intervention helped State, says Chandy

Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy says that Kerala has got a large helping in the latest Railway Budget because of the timely intervention of Union Ministers from Kerala and the favourable stand of United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

In a statement here on Tuesday, he welcomed the Railway Budget, because it had sanctioned several longstanding project proposals.
