Court order on Asif advocate’s plea tomorrow

HUBLI: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (First Court) Hubli will announce on February 28, the order on the application filed by senior counsel Ismail Jalagar under section 303 of Cr. PC requesting the court to grant him an interview with his client Mohammed Asif, who is now in Corps of Detectives (CoD) custody for his alleged links with banned SIMI.

When the matter was taken up by the court on Tuesday, after Assistant Public Prosecutor Kiran Patil filed his objections on the application, Mr. Jalagar placed his arguments before the JMFC (First Court) S. Srinivas.

He argued why it was essential for him to meet his client in the wake of the additional chargesheet filed by the officials levelling charges against Mr. Asif, who was initially charged with vehicle lifting.
