BANGALORE: Union Minister of State for Mines T. Subbarami Reddy on Monday said that Karnataka had the largest deposits of gold in the country and his Ministry has formulated programmes to produce high quality yellow metal. He was speaking at a function to felicitate Arathi Krishna, Community Development Officer in the Indian Embassy in Washington D.C., U.S. and daughter of the former Minister and Congress leader Begane Ramiah by the Sahyadri Sangha. Apart from Mr. Reddy, Governor Rameshwar Thakur, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Ambareesh and the Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Alok Prasad felicitated Ms. Arathi for her service to Indians in need of help in the U.S. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gagoi and Union Minister for Overseas Indians Affairs Vayalar Ravi in their messages lauded Ms. Arathi’s help to Indians. Vishnuvardhan, Bharati Vishnuvardhan, actors, D.K. Shiva Kumar, former Minister, and B.R. Shetty, chairman of the New Medical Centre, Dubai, congratulated her. Sangha president and commissioner, Department of Information, K.V.R. Tagore welcomed the gathering.
