Work on ECR to be over by April next

PUDUKOTTAI: Work on the World Bank-funded East Coast Road project being implemented by the Tamil Nadu Road Sector Project will be completed by April next year, the State Highways Minister Vellakovil Swaminathan said.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, after inspecting the on-going Highways projects in the district, Vellakovil Swaminathan said that the work, linking Arni and Tuticorin, involved an outlay of Rs.2,118 crore.

The Highways Minister said that works on laying of roads and construction of bridges at a total outlay of Rs.52 crores were in progress in different parts of the district.

Earlier, he inspected the works on the Musiri-Sedhubavachathiram sector and the Pudukottai - Aranthangi sector.
