Tension at hospital

CUTTACK: Even as security staff of SCB Medical College and Hospital boycotted their duties on Tuesday, the day-long parleys between medical authorities and the striking personnel did not yield any result. According to reports, a student allegedly stayed in the female ward to attend one of his relatives on Monday night. Security personnel asked the student to vacate the ward, leading to a heated exchange of words and soon a group of students rushed there and attacked the security staff.

Normalcy returned when police arrived on the spot and pacified the situation. The security personnel ceased work since morning.
