Panchayat schools to be renovated

VIRUDHUNAGAR: All panchayat union primary schools and panchayat union middle schools in the district would be renovated under the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam by 2010-11, Virudhunagar Collector V. Chandrasekaran said.

In a statement, he said that 190 primary school and 45 middle schools had been taken for renovation works at a cost of Rs. 229.26 lakh under the scheme in the last two years. Various works like white/colour-washing, painting of blackboards, repair of roof, floor, doors, windows and replacing the asbestos roof with tiles could be taken up.
