CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government is committed to beautification of Panchkula district. Besides initiating development works, private companies are also being involved in the process, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Rajinder Kataria said here on Tuesday. Presiding over a meeting with members of the Municipal Council of Panchkula and officers of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), he directed the officers to make a list of required works to be done in their respective sectors. These works could pertain to roads, parks, dividers, roundabouts, dustbins and provision of parking areas. He directed them to ensure that the divider grills across the roads were in good shape as any two-wheeler rider or persons passing through these damaged grills could meet with an accident. Efforts should be made to maintain greenery on the roundabouts and along the roads, he asserted. He asked the representatives of the private companies to prepare a project to beautify the city. He also asked the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Kalka, Monika Malik, to preserve the scenic beauty of Kalka and Pinjore. Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Virender Dahiya, City Magistrate Girish Arora, Executive Officer of Municipal Council Panchkula O. P. Sihag and officers of HUDA were among those present.
