Vincent Asokan dons a new role

Actor Vincent Asokan is donning a new role for his latest film ‘Silanerangalil’, that of an anti-hero.

Son of legendary actor Asokan, Vincent started his career playing a villain. He has acted in films such as ‘Aei’, ‘Pokkiri’ and ‘Azhwar’.

The actor playing the role of the anti-hero was a challenge. “My father has acted in a variety of roles. I wanted to do the same and prove myself. I think ‘Silanerangalil’ will prove my acting potential to the audience . The subject is re-incarnation. I play the lead role with some well-known artists such as Raghuvaran, ‘Vagai’ Chandrasekar, Navya Nair and Ramesh Kanna.”

“As the story is set in 1960, it was a mammoth task for art director Muthuraj, who re-created the 60’s magic on screen for us. We have also made melody queen Susheela sing after 13 years. The song has become a hit now. Another number is a Samurai song with interesting visuals,” he said. “I learned Aikido stunts from master Tabrez for more than a year, used by stunt master ‘Super’ Subbarayan in the film’s climax.”

Jayaraj has directed 29 films in Malayalam and won five national awards.

The music for the film is by Srikanth Deva.
