Water supply to be suspended today

CHENNAI: Piped water supply will be suspended in parts of Tondiarpet and Washermenpet on Wednesday as Chennai Metrowater has proposed to take up interconnection work of the shifted main pipeline with existing main at Old Washermenpet.
According to a press release, the drinking water main pipeline have been shifted away to facilitate the proposed construction of a subway at M.C.Road railway crossing near the Government Stanley Hospital. In order to supply through the rerouted main, the interconnection work of the shifted main and existing line at the junction of M.C.Road and Cemetery Road would be taken up on Wednesday.
Residents of divisions 14 to 22 in Area II and divisions 9,12,13 and parts of divisions 4-8 and 10,11 in Area I would not get water supply on Wednesday. For assistance on water supply, residents may contact Area Engineer I on 9445061901 or Area Engineer II on 9445061902.
