Air travel for legislators

HYDERABAD: MLAs and MLCs can now fly from the airport nearest to their places of residence to attend the Assembly/Council sessions and committee meetings.

Facility

The decision to provide air travel facility to MLAs and MLCs was taken by the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at a meeting following a recommendation made by the Committee on Amenities.

The air travel facility would also be extended to legislators part of the legislature committees visiting other States twice a year now.

In addition to this air travel facility, Dr. Reddy also hiked the mileage allowance from the existing Rs. 4 per km. to Rs. 10 per km., a press release from CMO said on Tuesday.
