PSBB (TP Road) in final

CHENNAI: PSBB (T.P. Road) defeated PSBB (K.K. Nagar) by six wickets in the semifinals of the PSBB (K.K. Nagar) under-10 cricket tournament held here on Tuesday.

The scores (semifinals): PSBB (K.K. Nagar) 179 for six in 30 overs (Aravindan 64, Sai Siddarth 39) lost to PSBB (TP Road) 180 for four in 29.5 overs (S. Aravind 51, P.P. Anirudh 36 not out).

Anna Nagar records win

Anna Nagar beat MCC ‘B’ 2-1, in Group II of the Sanmar-TNTA veterans’ tennis league, here. In Group IV, Madras Gym Club defeated Besant Nagar Club 3-0.

Santhome ‘A’ triumphs

Santhome ‘A’ clinched the B. Somasundaram Trophy under-15 two-day cricket tournament which concluded at the RKM-Viveka here on Tuesday, by virtue of its first innings lead over St. Bede’s ‘A’. Resuming on 91 for four, in reply to St. Bede’s 117, Santhome finished at 247. At stumps, St. Bede’s made 38 for three in its second innings. K. Srinath, former Ranji cricketer and current State selector, gave away the prizes.

The scores (final): St. Bede’s ‘A’ 117 & 38 for three in 25 overs drew with Santhome ‘A’ 247 in 84.1 overs (V. Ganga Sridhar Raju 59, R. Ricky Jones 40, A. Karthik 29, M. Siddharth 40, B. Aparajith three for 64, K. Bharath Shankar four for 56).

Venkateswara post win

Sri Venkateswara defeated King’s by 18 runs in the A.C. Muthiah Rolling Trophy inter-engineering college cricket tournament held here on Tuesday.

The scores: Sri Venkateswara Engg. College 144 for three in 20 overs (P. Guru Baskar 41, R. Aravind 56) bt King’s Engg. 126 for eight in 20 overs (K. Karthikeyan 27, A. Balakumaran 43 not out).
