Passengers offloaded from plane
NEW DELHI: There were frayed nerves at Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Tuesday morning after passengers of an Indian Airlines flight bound for Patna were offloaded and asked to board another flight later in the day.
According to an airline official, 14 passengers of flight IC 409 that was scheduled to take off at 7 a.m. were off loaded. “These passengers were holding tickets, but their names did not reflect in our computer records. As the flight was full, we offered to accommodate them in the 11 a.m. flight,” said the official.
“But as that flight had to go via Ranchi and the passengers would have reached their destination later than they had planned, they were upset. However to placate them, we changed the flight route and it went to Patna first,” he added.
